The familiar Australian story of ingenuity.

Down the rabbit hole…

I didn’t set out to start a company — I just wanted to solve a simple problem. Family and friends kept complaining about never really knowing how much water was left in their tanks. The old floating ball and stick setups were unreliable and kept sticking, the “smart” Bluetooth monitors still meant walking outside to connect your phone to the meter.

I’m an IT guy who can weld, an amateur fabricator who can use CAD — a bit of a renaissance man by accident. When something doesn’t exist, or doesnt work how it should. I tend to build it. So, what started as a small side project quickly turned into a full-blown obsession: creating a reliable, long-range, self-powered water monitoring system that actually works.

AquaVigil was born from that rabbit hole — a mix of curiosity, stubbornness, and the satisfaction of seeing an idea turn into something real. Each unit is designed and assembled here in Australia, built to handle heat, rain, and everything in between.

My goal isn’t to build the biggest company — it’s to make tech that quietly does its job, helping people keep track of one of the most important things they’ve got here in Australia: water.
